Florida Transportation Coalition held it’s inaugural meeting Oct. 1 and 2, 2010 in Orlando Florida. Attendees included a broad base of community, business and union leaders as well as local citizens.

Tony Fransetta, President of Florida Alliance for Retired Americans traveled to Orlando to participate as a panelist in one of the three round table discussions offered at the conference.  President Fransetta addressed senior issues concerning public transportation from access to cost.  Tony also engaged attendees with a brief personal history of his life long experience with public transportation.  He remarked Floridians need to take advantage of this opportunity to move forward with plans to build high-speed rail and improve existing public transportation modes such as bus routes and rail.  President Fransetta emphasized the need for accessible, convenient, affordable transportation as a pattern for success.
